K-Pop sensation BTS is reuniting with Megan Thee Stallion for an exciting new collaboration. The artists recently confirmed their upcoming project after Megan Thee Stallion teased it on social media. On August 29, Megan hinted at the duet with a cryptic post on X (formerly Twitter) featuring a horse, a purple heart, and side eyes emojis, sparking speculation among fans that the purple heart was a reference to BTS.
The next day, BTS confirmed the collaboration by retweeting Megan’s post and adding a hedgehog and a koala emoji, with the caption, “Coming Soon!” Fans interpreted the koala as a nod to RM, whose BT21 character Koya is a koala, while the hedgehog might reference Megan’s current hairstyle. Some fans speculated whether the song might be associated with the upcoming film Sonic the Hedgehog 3 or if the emojis hint at the song’s title.
The announcement has generated significant excitement, with fans eagerly expressing their anticipation on social media. Comments included, “OMG OMG Something is coming,” and “It’s the swap we were waiting for!!” Another user excitedly posted, “Oh my god, yes we won!!! We will all be streaming!!!”
This collaboration follows Megan’s recent release of her third studio album, Megan, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. BTS is currently on hiatus for mandatory military service, though some members are working on solo projects.
This new project will mark Megan’s second collaboration with BTS. In 2021, she worked with the group on a remix of their Billboard Hot 100 hit “Butter,” which they performed together at BTS’ Los Angeles concert that November. Megan had previously expressed her desire to collaborate with BTS and was thrilled when they reached out for the Butter remix.
